Brandon Harnos O.D.

Upon graduating with honors from the University of Michigan, Dr. Brandon Harnos, a metro-Detroit native, moved to New York City to complete his doctorate degree at the SUNY College of Optometry.

 

While at SUNY College of Optometry, Brandon was very involved. He was class president, Gold Key Honor’s Society President, American Optometric Student Association national trustee, and founded the first ever LGBTQ+ club at any independent college of optometry in the country. His proudest moment was organizing free vision exams for homeless LGBTQ+ youth with the Ali Forney Center in NYC. Brandon was the proud recipient of many awards with a highlight including the COVD award honoring excellence in binocular vision.

 

He has completed rotations in various disciplines with a focus in ocular disease, pediatrics, and vision therapy and enjoys working with a diverse population. Brandon has presented various lectures and posters including “Sensory Hypersensitivity and Autism” and “Electrophysiological and Auxillary testing in the Non-Verbal Population”. He has recently published an article in Modern Optometry on the medical evaluation of a ptosis. Brandon is also associated with the SUNY College Optometry as a clinical attending supervisor, having taught over 20 students and counting! Brandon currently serves as the Vice President of the Hudson Valley Optometric Association.

 

In his free time, Dr. Harnos enjoys running, playing volleyball, reading, exploring new places, and is also a classically trained trumpet player. (You can catch Brandon playing in the local Ulster County Wind Ensemble!)

Scott Morrison O.D. F.A.A.O.

Dr. Scott I. Morrison grew up on the beaches of Belle Harbor in Queens, N.Y. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Queens College of The City University of New York and earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry. 

 

He moved to New Paltz, N.Y. in 1985 starting a private practice while also serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry where he continues to maintain his faculty position. In 1990 he added an Orange County location which is in Montgomery, N.Y.

 

Dr. Morrison is a Past President of the Hudson Valley Optometric Society and continues to serve on its Board. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a  Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.  His practice serves as an Externship site for the SUNY College of Optometry whereby students work alongside Dr. Morrison for 12 week rotations. 

 

In his spare time Dr. Morrison enjoys exercising, music, and rooting for the Jets. He is happily married to Jacki Posner Morrison, his wife of 34 years. They have two sons, Jake, an attorney who lives and works in NYC and Ben, a Biomedical Engineer who lives and works in the LA area.

Diana Serdah, O.D. F.A.A.O.

Diana Serdah is not just an optometrist, but a vision expert who combines her passion for eye care with her extensive knowledge of ocular disease. She has a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, which she studied at SUNY New Paltz before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry degree and vision rehabilitation micro-credential at the SUNY College of Optometry. She also completed a rigorous residency program at the VA Hudson Valley, where she gained valuable experience in diagnosing and managing various eye conditions. As a resident, she was involved in teaching (adjunct clinical associate professor), research, and continuing education activities. She presented a poster at the prestigious American Academy of Optometry conference (Posterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy Secondary to Failed ANeurysm Clipping) and gave a COPE approved lecture on unilateral vision loss (Differential Diagnoses of Unilateral Vision Loss). She also earned the distinction of being a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, demonstrating her commitment to excellence in her field. Diana is not only a skilled clinician, but also a compassionate and caring person who enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Amelia Bartolone O.D. F.A.A.O.

Dr. Amelia G. Bartolone is an optometrist specializing in pediatrics and vision therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross in 1991, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY State College of Optometry in 1995. Dr. Bartolone received her residency training in pediatrics and vision therapy at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia and was an Associate Clinical Professor at the SUNY State College of Optometry in New York City for 17 years. She examines infants, children, adults and patients with special needs. As a vision training specialist she can detect and treat lazy eye, eye tracking problems, eye teaming and focusing problems, visual problems following head trauma, and visual perceptual delays.

 

Dr. Bartolone is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and was named New York State Young Optometrist of the Year in 2003. She is published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and lectures nationally. She lives in Stone Ridge with her husband and two daughters.
